After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement condemning GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump for his call to ban all Muslims from entering the United States, Trump announced on Twitter in typical arrogant fashion that he is postponing his plans to visit Israel in December.

In an appearance on “Fox and Friends” Thursday morning, Trump said that he postponed his travel plans to meet Netanyahu because he “didn’t want to put him under pressure” amid the controversy surrounding his remarks.

“I didn’t want to put him under pressure, number one,” he said. “I also did it because I’m in the midst of a very powerful campaign that’s going very well, and it was not that easy to do.”

“I have a tremendous amount of support from the people of Israel,” Trump added. “All I’m doing is postponing it, and I think that was the better alternative.”
