President-elect Donald Trump’s signature airplane got an honorary water cannon salute before the plane took off from New York’s LaGuardia airport.

These kinds of salutes are sometimes used as a way of marking some kind of important event, to christen a plane’s first or last flight, or even to honor a retiring pilot or air traffic controller.

This flight marked the first time the plane was used to transport Trump after he was elected president-elect.

Trump is scheduled to meet with President Obama on Thursday afternoon, the first meeting between the two since Trump won a surprising upset victory over Hillary Clinton.

NBC News reporter Vaugh Hillyard recorded the event up-close, but there is also a nice aerial shot of the event it as well.
