At a campaign event in Atlanta, Ga., on Wednesday, Donald Trump addressed the Orlando terror attack, saying that if some of the civilians at the nightclub had guns, the “carnage” would have been “nothing” like that which America has now witnessed.

“If some of those great people that were in that club that night had guns strapped to their waste or strapped to their ankle, and if the bullets were going in the other direction, aimed at this guy who was just open target practice, you would’ve had a situation, folks," said the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, "which would have been always horrible, but nothing like the carnage that we all as a people have suffered this weekend. Nothing.”
