In an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Monday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Barack Obama is taking steps toward eliminating Americans’ Second Amendment right to bear arms, as the President is reportedly weighing a new executive order that would impose further restrictions on U.S. gun sales and ownership.

“Pretty soon you won’t be able to get guns,” said Trump. “What I do see is step by step by step, and then all of a sudden, you have no Second Amendment. I do see that happening.”

“You’ll have these little baby steps, and some of them aren’t so baby,” he went on. “In all fairness, I don’t know what Obama’s proposing… All I hear is he’s going to sign an executive order.”

“Regardless of what is proposed, it is proposed through executive order and it shouldn’t be,” Trump argued.

The GOP presidential front-runner criticized Obama for abusing his executive power, bypassing Congress time and time again to create law because negotiating takes “too much work.”

“You have Republicans. You have Democrats. You have all these people who get elected to do this stuff, and you’re supposed to get together and pass a law,” said Trump. “He doesn’t want to do that because it’s too much work. He doesn’t want to work too hard. He wants to go back and play golf.”
