Update: And as quickly as it came, a judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump alleging some Nevada polling booths had been illegally kept open late to allow for more Democratic votes.

Original Story: Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has filed the first in what could be a series of lawsuits alleging “rigged” voting, a claim he’s touted heavily in the past few weeks leading up to Election Day.

The Trump camp announced Tuesday that they're suing Joe P. Gloria, the registrar of voters in Clark County, Nevada, over his decision to keep voting booths open two hours past the closing deadline during early voting last week.

Reuters reported Tuesday:

Nevada state law says voters who are in line at 8 p.m., when the polls close, must be allowed to cast their ballots.

The lawsuit, filed in a Nevada state court on Monday, said election officials violated state law because they allowed people to join the line after 8 p.m. at a polling location at a Latino market.

According to CNN-affiliated Gant News, officials in the Las Vegas suburb said no one was allowed to jump in line to cast their ballot after 8 p.m., but that the polls were kept open so those who were already in line could vote.

In their lawsuit, however, the Trump campaign alleges the polling places, which were reportedly set up in primarily minority neighborhoods, were kept open past the legal deadline to allow Democratic voters to be brought in.

“It’s being reported that certain key Democratic polling locations in Clark County were kept open for hours and hours beyond closing time to bus and bring democratic voters in. Folks, it’s a rigged system. It’s a rigged system and we’re going to beat it. We’re going to beat it,” Trump said at a Saturday rally.

Trump and Democratic rival Hillary Clinton have remained neck-and-neck in polls coming out of Nevada, which is listed as a swing state in this year’s contentious election.
