President Trump on Tuesday delivered remarks at the National Republican Congressional Committee March Dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
Heading into the midterm elections, Trump said that a vote for Democrats is a “vote for higher taxes, open borders, and the destruction of American jobs.”
He slammed Democrats in Congress such as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Maxine Waters, saying they have “extreme and dangerous” positions that put the nation’s security at risk.
Trump added that Democrats “have never been so vulnerable because they’ve lost touch with everyday working people.”
“The choice has never been this clear,” he said.
He cited his 2016 contender Hillary Clinton’s recent remarks, blaming her loss in the election on male “pressure” on white women to vote for Trump.
“Why doesn’t she just go home? That was not a good statement,” Trump said.
The President warned Republicans not to “get complacent.”
“To win, we have to outwork the opposition,” he said. “This country has so much to lose.”
Trump was asked to headline the annual March dinner, what is typically the House GOP campaign committee's biggest fundraiser of the year, according to Politico.
