Trump Defends Asian-Americans: ‘It Is NOT Their Fault’ the Virus Spread

President Trump took to Twitter Monday evening to defend Asian-Americans in lieu of reports of discrimination, stating that the coronavirus crisis is “NOT their fault in any way, shape, or form.”

“It is very important that we totally protect our Asian American community in the United States, and all around the world,” Trump wrote. “They are amazing people, and the spreading of the Virus....is NOT their fault in any way, shape, or form. They are working closely with us to get rid of it. WE WILL PREVAIL TOGETHER!”

This comes as the media and public figures such as Hillary Clinton accuse the President of being “racist” for calling COVID-19 the “Chinese virus.”

As MRCTV reported, Trump defended his use of the name last week, saying, “Cause it comes from China… That’s why. I want to be accurate.”

He added that there is a disinformation campaign being carried out by China regarding the virus that the U.S. government will not tolerate.
