Donald Trump’s latest attack ad against Jeb Bush uses the words of Bush’s own mother against him.
Trump’s advertisement, which was posted on Facebook and Instagram on Monday, features a clip from a 2013 “Today” show interview with former first lady Barbara Bush. During the interview, Bush stated she would not like to see her son, Jeb, run for president. Her reasoning was that “we’ve had enough Bushes”:
“Mother knows best, Jeb!” Trump taunts at the end of the interview.
Trump captioned the video, “Even Barbara Bush agrees with me.”
Since the 2013 interview, however, Bush changed her mind about her son’s candidacy.
