Trump Asked About Venezuela: 'That's What Socialism Gets You'

1.4k views

“That’s what socialism gets you…”

I’ve been saying this for years, and now we finally have a president who has the gumption to publicly say it as well.

President Trump took questions from the media after a meeting with Republican members of Congress at the White House concerning trade on Thursday. One reporter asked Trump about the ongoing turmoil in Venezuela and whether the president is “worried to leave the American diplomats behind.”

Trump’s response was short. But, not only did he vilify the ideology of Socialism, he also took a veiled shot at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez without ever naming her.

Watch below for Trump’s Venezuela comments:

“That’s what socialism gets you, when they want to raise your taxes to 70 percent,” Trump said. “You know, it’s interesting, I’ve been watching our opponents — our future opponents — talking about 70 percent. Number one, they can’t do it for 70 percent. It’s got to be probably twice that number.”

With all of the free “entitlements” that socialists like Ocasio-Cortez want to just give people, as if any of those “entitlements” would actually be free, to think that taxing the wealthiest people at a high rate will fix the problem is naive and self-destructive.

Again, “That’s what socialism gets you…”
