Trudeau Urges Vaccines After Catching COVID Despite Being Vaccinated

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is urging – and, in many cases, mandating – his residents to get vaccinated while announcing that he himself has tested positive for COVID despite being triple-vaccinated.

“This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19. I’m feeling fine – and I’ll continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines,” Trudeau announced on Twitter this week. “Everyone, please get vaccinated and get boosted.”

Trudeau’s positive COVID test comes just hours after he and his family were evacuated from their Ottawa government residence over supposed security concerns as thousands of truckers descended on the city in protest of Trudeau’s ridiculous and science-denying vaccine and mask mandates.

The mandate requires proof of vaccination for truckers crossing between the U.S. and Canada, and would require unvaccinated Canadian truckers crossing the border between the U.S. and Canada to quarantine once they've returned home, even if they haven’t gotten COVID – despite the fact that being vaccinated, while perhaps protecting against some of the worse symptoms, doesn’t stop a person from getting and spreading the disease.

Trudeau called the record-setting trucker convoy and their tens of thousands of supporters, a force supposedly strong enough to compel him to evacuate his house, a “small fringe minority.”

“The small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa who are holding unacceptable views that they are expressing do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other, who know that following the science and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values, as a country,” he said – just before announcing that he had contracted the disease he’s been vaccinated three times against and for which he is now mandating others be vaccinated against to “stop the spread.”

A GoFundMe for the truckers, dubbed the "Freedom Convoy 2022," has already reached more than $10 million USD, though the website is reportedly refusing to release a large portion of the funds.
