A tow truck driver in North Carolina refused to tow a Bernie Sanders supporter's car because he claims socialists expect “freebies.”
FOX Carolina reports Kenneth Shupe, the owner Shupee Max Towing, decided not to service Sanders supporter Cassy McWade after noticing the political paraphernalia on her car.
Shupe told FOX Carolina, “Every business dealing in recent history that I’ve had with a socialist-minded person, I haven’t gotten paid.”
“I own the truck. The side of my truck says ‘Shupe.’ It doesn’t say ‘freebie,'" he said. "You know, and every time I’ve dealt with these people in recent history, I get burned. With an “E,’ not a ‘U.’”
Kelle McWade, Cassy’s mother, told Fox Carolina she felt like Shupe was “discriminating against somebody based on whatever their affiliation is," calling Shupe’s actions “bigotry.”
Kelle McWade allegedly posted a Facebook status calling for people to “Spread this bigot's story far & wide.”
Shupe, however, insists the decision was purely business and not political.
