The Supreme Court has stood at nine justices since 1869, but an exact number isn't fixed by the Constitution.
Now, Democrats have introduced a bill to expand the Supreme Court to 13 Justices from nine, and aim to pack it with leftist judges.
This move has been described as a “power grab” to allow activist judges to back a left-wing agenda.
