When Ben Ellis could no longer show up to school to teach his classes due to an aggressive battle with cancer, a group of over 400 students from Nashville’s Christ Presbyterian Academy gathered outside his home to comfort him by doing what he loves:

Singing songs of worship.

Ellis, who teaches Latin and Bible studies at the school, had been teaching until last week, which he felt helped him through his chemotherapy and radiation treatments, reports CNN.

He had a tough morning last Wednesday, having received some difficult news the night before, the school’s headmaster Nate Morrow told the network.

That’s when students and faculty decided to ready the school’s buses and head on over to Ellis’s home.

"The high school principal said, 'Ben has loved us well. Stop what you're doing, load up the buses. We're going to his house to worship with him,'" Morrow said.

"He found peace worshiping with others," he explained of Ellis, known for his love of gathering people to sing.

The event was captured on video and sent to country singer Tim McGraw who posted it onto his Facebook page

"A friend sent this to me today," he wrote. "The entire student body (400+ students plus HS faculty) drove to his house to worship with him ... So precious and kind."

In the video, Ellis is seen signing along to “Holy Spirit You are Welcome Here" with a sea of support outside his window.

The video has since gotten over 20 million views and nearly 400,000 shares.
