Tijuana Residents Protest Migrant Caravan, Tell Them 'Return to Your Country'

Apparently, the “evil, racist” President Donald Trump isn’t the only one who has objections to the Central American migrant caravan headed to the U.S.

Residents in Tijuana, Mexico protested the caravan stop in their town along the Mexico/U.S. border. It sounds like the protests took place because they feel like those in caravan are just using Mexico as a stepping stone into the U.S.

According to France 24:

Hundreds of Tijuana residents protested overnight at Friendship Park, a beachside square where the migrants have set up camp along the fence between Mexico and the United States.

Singing the Mexican national anthem and shouting anti-immigrant slogans, some protesters threw stones at the migrants, even targeting children in some cases, an AFP correspondent said.

“Get out of here,” a group of around 20 people shouted at a camp of Hondurans near the border, Reuters reported. “We want you to return to your country. You are not welcome.”

It’s really no surprise that some Mexicans would be upset with the caravan considering the vast majority of those in the caravan rejected the Mexican government’s offer of asylum in their country in late October.

Some residents even chanted "Mexico first" at the migrants, according to a Facebook video posted by Victor Cancino News and reported by Breitbart:

The caravan migrants basically protested back at the residents of Tijuana, referencing what they want if they succeed in entering the U.S.:

It’s all well and good to want things like “peace” and “jobs,” but — and I’m not sure the migrants are aware or even care about this fact — you are not entitled to a job in the U.S. You’re entitled to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. Getting a job is on the individual. It’s not a right. Heck, peace isn’t a right either. It’s a nice wish, but it’s also highly unlikely in the world we live in, no matter where you go.

If the migrants in this “caravan” already feel this entitled before even entering the U.S., try imagining how entitled they’d feel if they were successful in their attempt to break U.S. laws.
