A pastor in Houston, Texas was just placed in jail after allegedly sexual assaulting an underage family member more than 600 times over the last decade.

According to Click2Houston, 39-year-old Robert Carter allegedly started abusing a seven-year-old child who was related to him beginning in 2008. Court documents indicate that Carter is accused of performing sexual acts with the child and making her perform oral sex on him. He also reportedly used candy to bribe the young girl into such disturbing acts.
Reports state Carter would assault the child while other members of their family were sleeping at their home and even go to Carter’s grandmothers home to abuse her there.
Court documents allege that Carter told the girl that if she told anyone, “no one would believe” her, ABC13 Houston indicated.
The victim said that after years of the continuous assalts, she was raped at 12 years old. Apparently Carter would stop at an H-E-B store on the way to drop the child off at school and assault her in the back parking lot. He’d also take the child to his office in the Greater Bible Way Church in Sunnyside, the church in which he worked, to rape her.
Carter is still listed on the Black Preaching Network website and his bio insists that he loves his wife and children and has received great honors as a pastor. However, according to church documents, he told the victim that if she refused his abuse, he’d make her life a “living hell.”

The girl's father ended up speaking out about the situation, but concealed his identity for privacy reasons.
The father insisted that his daughter had "always been fearful” of Carter ever since he came into her life at around six-years-old.
“I don’t understand how you can carry yourself, walk around preaching the word and living a lie,” the victim’s father told Click2Houston adding, “How? Like how could you even get aroused? It doesn’t make any sense.”
When the child was 16, she became pregnant with Carter's child. Though the event was traumatic, the victim knew that the child, no matter how it was conceived, had value and deserved a chance at life.
She secretly delivered the baby in a closet “by herself,” her dad clarified, and the baby was dropped off at a nearby fire station, likely in a safe haven box.
“What if she would’ve died that night,” the victim's father asked with fear in his voice.
According to Click2Houston, the girl is reportedly seeking custody of her child.
Presently, Carter is being held on a $100,000 bond in the Harris County Jail after he reportedly turned himself in following a warrant for his arrest. If the allegations are found to be true, I hope he never gets out.
