Conservatives are heading for the exits as Radio Mambí, once a place of refuge for Spanish-speaking conservatives in the Miami area, is facing a liberal takeover supported, in part, by billionaire leftist donor George Soros and his allies.

The latest conservative to step down from the iconic radio station is Emmy Award-winning host Nelson Rubio, who planned to announce his departure on-air but was stopped by management.

"I don't agree with, nor do I share the ideology of the group [that] purchased Radio Mambí… very simply, George Soros represents the extreme left," Rubio told Fox News Digital through a translator.

Rubio is the third on-air personality to step down in the midst of the buyout. Hosts Lourdes Ubieta and Dania Alexandrino have also resigned in protest in recent weeks.

In an interview with Fox News, Alexandrino said, "I found out by reading an article, and I was like, ‘Holy crap,’ so I sent it to the station manager. And I was like, ‘I do want you to know that if this purchase happens, there's no way in hell I'm taking any money from this staff.’”

Alexandrino announced her resignation on Monday.

Radio Mambí, a station especially popular with anti-communist Cuban exiles in southern Florida, is one of 18 Hispanic radio stations that the Soros-linked Latino Media Network will purchase if the deal is approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Should the deal go through, management roles at stations including Radio Mambí will be handed to former Bill Clinton and Barack Obama staffers.

Reportedly, Jess Morales Rocketto, a Hillary for America and AFL-CIO alum, and Stephanie Valencia, a former Obama White House staffer, will be put at the helm of the conservative station.

All hope is not lost for fans of the station’s programming, however. According to Fox News, Rubio, alongside his former colleagues Ubieta and Alexandrino, will be joining fledgling conservative organization Americano Media.

"It’s not that I am courageous… I am protecting my family’s life and my views before God," Rubio said. "I left [Radio Mambi] because, when I left Cuba, my native country, there was a communist dictatorship there, and I came here to enjoy the way of life in the U.S.

“Living in this nation and under the Constitution has led me to know that [we] can live in a free manner of doing what I do as a journalist, expressing my thoughts."
