This Texas Candidate Just Launched the Best Campaign Ad of All Time

In a nauseatingly contentious election cycle of walls vs. emails, where getting down and dirty with personal attacks has become the everyday norm, thank God for Gerald Daugherty.

If you’re anything like the vast majority of Americans who say this election cycle is really bumming them out (and the nearly one in three Americans who say they’ve actually lost friends on social media thanks to politics), you will absolutely love Daugherty’s new campaign ad. Why?

Because it’s hilarious, simple and, best of all, it doesn’t make you want to throw your glass of whisky at your television in complete disgust. Seriously. I mean, the ad doesn't even mention what political party Daughtery represents.

In fact, it may just be the best campaign ad of all time.

See, Daugherty’s running for county commissioner in Travis County, Texas. And according to the ad, he’s really, really into his job. His poor wife, Charlyn, is simply asking voters to reelect her husband to get him out of her house. And according to YouTube, nearly 1.7 million people have watched her plea.

Check it out for yourself here, and try to remember that everything’s going to be OK:
