A West Palm Beach, Fla. teen is facing adult charges after assaulting a mother and her two-year-old child in January.

The mother, whose name is unknown, was approached by Jackson, 17, at a bus stop on Jan. 18. After the woman asked if she could help him with something, Jackson grabbed for her purse.

When she did not make the robbery an easy one, he continued by biting her, kicking her and finally turning to her two-year-old child and punching the toddler in the face, police reports indicated.

Following the assault and fearing for the safety of her child, the woman released the purse and Jackson got away. He was ultimately found through a stolen car report.

Jackson is being tried as an adult on charges of robbery without a weapon and child cruelty. The judge on the case, Joseph Marx, ordered that Jackson be held on $100,000 bail at the Palm Beach County Jail, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Jackson's juvenile record is not known.
