Taylor Swift is threatening to sue a blogger that wrote a piece that labeled her an "icon of white supremacist, nationalists, and other fringe groups."

In a blog, titled "Swiftly to the alt-right: Taylor subtly gets the lower case kkk in formation." PopFront writer Meghan Herning scribed a lengthy piece accusing Taylor Swift of being a neo-Nazi who secretly supports white supremacism and Donald Trump.

While Swift has been bashed in recent years by the media for her own victimhood narratives and highly-publicized celebrity feuds, the jump that this author takes is pretty lengthy, laughably claiming Swift is secretly a Trump-loving white supremacist.

Opening the blog, Herning claims Swift's perpetual victimhood plays off a "long-standing white fear: a black man taking away a white woman's power," ever since Swift was rudely interrupted by Kanye West at the 2009 Video Music Awards. (Oddly enough, I have never heard about this "longstanding fear" from women before, and there was no cited evidence to support it.)

Herning asserted Swift's lyrics portray some hidden white supremacist ideology, claiming the words to her latest single "Look What You Made Me Do" is somehow a secret love letter to white supremacists, though Herning provides little evidence other than her opinions on what the lyrics mean to support it.

"Taylor’s are lyrics that connect with whites that are concerned with what they see as the white dispossession of power." she writes, criticizing Swift for not joining the ranks of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga in openly campaigning for Hillary Clinton during last year's election. (Though Clinton, let's not forget, has referred to blacks as "superpredators.")

Her evidence is a blogger for the oh-so-reputable neo-Nazi site The Daily Stormer, who was quoted in a Broadly article as saying, "It is also an established fact that Taylor Swift is secretly a Nazi and is simply waiting for the time when Donald Trump makes it safe for her to come out and announce her Aryan agenda to the world."

Herning finally demands that Swift lay out her political views and join other celebrities in their publicized hate for Donald Trump, saying her "silence is not innocent."

In the aftermath of the blog's publishing, Swift and her lawyer sent a letter demanding that it be removed, otherwise a lawsuit would be on the way. The ACLU, on the other hand, has apparently taken up Herning's side, saying the article author has the right to free speech.
