A Wing Stop in Philadelphia was the final stop for a would be robber. After a customer with a gun stopped an armed robbery with a single shot to the neck.

WPVI-TV reports a man with a permit to carry a weapon entered a Philadelphia Wing Stop in the middle an armed robbery on Sunday evening.

Police said the suspect, a 53-year-old man, came in wearing a mask and gloves.

"(He) walked in, went behind the counter, announced a robbery and asked for all the money," said Philadelphia Police Department Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Before the three employees who were inside could comply with his demands, a customer walked in talking on his cell phone.

"That's when the robber pointed a gun at that customer and demanded his cell phone," said Small, who added that the 27-year-old customer quickly decided to fight back.

Police say the customer fired one shot and struck the victim in the neck. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the customer is cooperating. He is not expected to face any charges.

"The guy that was robbing the place deserved what he got, in my opinion," Marius Maiellano told WPVI. "Pull a gun on somebody, expect to get shot."
