Taiwan Accuses WHO of Ignoring December Inquiry into COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we seem to getting more and more cases of 'who can you trust?' The answer we keep getting is 'not China.' But a more recent addition to that answer seems to include the World Health Organization (WHO).

Fox News is reporting about a December 2019 Taiwanese email to WHO asking about "person-to-person" spread of COVID-19, which Taiwan says WHO ignored.

According to Fox News:

Taiwan is accusing WHO of downplaying the severity and spread of the coronavirus in an attempt to pander to China, even after Taiwan sounded the alarm about at least seven cases of atypical pneumonia that they were aware of in Wuhan, where the virus originated.

When asked about the cases by the media, Taiwan said China's health authorities said, "The cases were believed not SARS; however samples are still under examination, and cases have been isolated for treatment," according to the contents of an email sent by Taiwan's Center for Disease Control and Prevention to WHO on Dec. 31.

This isn't the first revelation that Taiwan, who deems themselves separate from China, has experienced with WHO. Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) saw a clip from one of their news broadcasts go viral on multiple social media platforms after the clip appeared to show WHO senior adviser to the director general Bruce Aylward repeatedly dodge a question about Taiwan's response to COVID-19.
