Swedish Gov't-Backed Twitter Mocks ‘Racist’ Swedes for Being 'Cockroaches'

The individual chosen to run Sweden's government-affiliated Twitter account last week expressed his gratitude for being taken in as an immigrant by taunting Swedes and claiming he stole their jobs and education.

Every week, the Swedish government chooses a new person to represent the face of Sweden on Twitter as part of its “Curators of Sweden” program provided by the Swedish Institute and VisitSweden. Last week, Elias Kreidy, originally from Lebanon, was picked to share his experiences being “practically not accepted” as a Swede.

In a series of tweets, Kreidy mocked the Swedes who welcomed him into their country:

While claiming he loves everyone, Kreidy simultaneously attacked fellow Swedes as “cockroaches” and for not being the “original inhabitants” of the country:

Kreidy also generalized Swedes, writing that, while “99.9% of Middle Eastern are NOT Terrorists,” only “The vast Majority of Swedes are NOT Racists.”

As well, he mocked Swedes for fearing terrorism.

Instead of posting controversial commentary on Swedish life as an immigrant, this week’s curator of the week has resolved to post “army-stuff” “24/7.”
