Student Alarms Campus by Mistaking Lab Equipment for a KKK Hood

A Bowling Green State University student caused alarm on Twitter when she mistook lab equipment covering for a Ku Klux Klan hood.

On Sunday, a student tweeted that there is an “ACTIVE KKK group” on campus, which the student claims has existed since 1922. The student accompanied her post about the alleged KKK group on campus with a shaky video of a window with a white sheet in it:

The tweet, which garnered over a thousand shares, prompted Bowling Green State University president Mary Ellen Mazey to respond. In her tweet, Mazey said the school inspected the window and determined the white fabric was actually lab equipment covering. Mazey also included multiple photos to support her point:

The student, who admitted she was wrong, maintained there is still a KKK group on campus:
