In recent years, Dick’s Sporting Goods has repeatedly made headlines for championing a number of left-wing causes. Whether it’s lobbying for gun control, posting black squares online in the name of social change, or paying for women to abort their babies out of state, you can count on the sports supplies store to be at the forefront of woke corporate activism.

On Wednesday, Stephen Miller, an advisor to former President Donald Trump and then-Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), announced that he would lead the charge against Dick’s Sporting Goods with his legal group, America First Legal.

According to a statement on their website, America First Legal has asked the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to open a civil rights investigation of Dick’s Sporting Goods for “multiple violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended by the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978.”

The logic of the complaint relates to the up-to-$4,000 benefit that Dick’s Sporting Goods has offered to women who travel out of state for an abortion. Because Title VII prohibits discrimination based on childbirth, America First Legal argues that Dick’s Sporting Goods violates the law by not offering similar benefits to mothers who have their babies.

In addition to the abortion complaint, America First Legal claims that, as stated in the company’s official documents, Dick’s is “specifically recruiting, hiring, and/or promoting workers because of race, color, national origin, or sex.”

According to their website, the retail company has set goals to “increase BIPOC representation in leadership roles by 30% by 2025,” and “increase overall representation of women in store leadership to 40% by 2025.” They also hope to “achieve 50% BIPOC and/or women for entry-level hires for technology roles by 2025.”

“Subsidizing travel for an abortion, while denying an equivalent benefit to a mother welcoming a new baby, is perverse and unlawful,” America First Legal Senior Counselor and Director of Oversight Reed D. Rubinstein said. “Using racial balancing and quotas in hiring and promotion, as the company claims that it does, has been illegal for decades. DICK’S management is an avatar for the rot and danger of corporate wokeness.”
