Steelers Won’t Take Field For Anthem – One Player Breaks Ranks

Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin had announced That the Steeler's would stay in their lockeroom while the national anthem was performed before the team’s game at Chicago’s Soldier Field. One player decided to take matters into his own hands.

One Steelers’ player ventured out on the field with his hand over his heart.

Decorated military veteran, West Point graduate and offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva.

Villanueva stood just outside the player's tunnel and was caught on camera during the national anthem.

According to Steelerswire, Villanueva offered no comment to the media about his decision following the Steelers loss to the Bears.
