St. Louis Police Chief Welcomes National Guard Following 61 Arrests, 21 Fires

The St. Louis County Police Department is using Twitter to keep Americans abreast of the riots following the grand jury decision not to indict Officer Wilson for the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO.

Police Chief Jon Belmar tweeted a welcome to the National Guard troops arriving in Ferguson to help keep the peace and protect citizens and storeowners after a violent Monday night resulting in 61 arrests and 21 fires. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has promised that 2,200 National Guardsmen will be on-duty in Ferguson by nightfall tonight.
