South Africa To Amend Its Constitution to Strip White Farmers of Their Land

For more than 40 years, blacks in South Africa were stripped of their ability to own land because of the color of their skin.

Now, South Africa’s apparent response is to…strip other people of their ability to own land because of the color of their skin.

South Africa’s ruling party has announced plans to amend the country’s constitution to allow the government to seize land from white farmers without payment, according to new reports Wednesday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa said the African National Congress will "finalise a proposed amendment” soon, the BBC explains. The plan is to forcibly take land from white farmers and redistribute it to black Africans – all without payment. It’s a political reaction to the fact that about 95 percent of all private land in the area is owned by whites, a latent effect of the apartheid that ended more than two decades ago.

While current South African law already allows the government to seize land if they provide "just and equitable compensation," Ramaphosa claims stealing land from whites without compensation is allowable under the nation's constitution if it's "in the public interest."

Since then, about one-tenth of white-owned land in South Africa has been turned over to blacks due to the government purchasing land and turning it over to black citizens.

The world has largely turned a blind eye to the war against white farmers in South Africa, where literally hundreds of white people have been tortured and murderedon their own farmland in just the past few years.

It’s not clear what would happen to the white farmers who’ll be ousted from their own property without compensation simply because they lack the appropriate amount of melanin.
