Newly elected Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears, a Republican who has already made history as the first black woman to hold the seat in the history of the Commonwealth, marked another first this week after she reportedly used her high-heeled shoe to call the Virginia Senate chamber to order after someone hid her gavel.
According to reports, an unknown prankster, whether for hilarity or out of spite, hid Sears’ gavel on Monday in the Virginia Senate. Unfazed, Sears instead used the heel of her leather pump in its place.

But as we have seen, the heel did just fine. One shoe can change a life, ask Cinderella.” https://t.co/Au0nIkaUyi pic.twitter.com/dO9xRdNtXf
