You know the old saying “If the guard at Walmart doesn’t let you in because of social distancing guidelines, just ram him with the truck like a Greek warship.” Wait, no, that just describes the alleged actions of one particularly irate man in the town of Sherbrooke, Quebec Saturday.

Authorities say, when a young man and a female companion attempted to enter the store Saturday, they were thwarted by a security guard, who informed them of a one person per car admittance policy, to better help adhere to social distancing guidelines.

But in this instance police claim, the young man then stormed to his car with his companion and proceeded to then ram the guard with it, driving him up on the hood and slamming his head onto the pavement as the man maneuvered to shake him off.

The guard has been hospitalized and is currently in critical, but stable condition with life-threatening head injuries, while his assailant has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, armed assault with a vehicle, and hit and run. According to police, the severity of the charges may depend on the condition of the security guard.
