As you doubtlessly recall, the Democratic Party has spent the past few years hearkening back to a kinder, gentler era of politics before President Donald Trump mucked everything up with his “divisive rhetoric.” Days when politicians stuck to the issues and avoided personal attacks – when political discourse was defined by mutual respect and civility.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) evidently didn’t get the memo.
Hochul had some choice words for those who disagreed with her as she signed a radical pro-abortion legislative package.
Hochul said during her speech on Monday:
The women of New York will never be subjugated to government mandated pregnancies because that's what will ensue if Roe v. Wade is overturned by the Supreme Court. This is the United States of America, where freedom and liberty are supposed to mean something. It's the rock upon which we were founded. It is supposed to mean something. Except in the eyes of some neanderthals who say, women are not entitled to those rights.
Setting aside the utter insanity of the “government mandated pregnancies” argument, it’s worth dwelling on the level of dehumanization with which Hochul views her political opponents. A large slice of America disagrees with the practice of abortion, including many women. Hochul apparently views these millions of Americans as something lesser than her.

This should come as no surprise since dehumanization has been used to justify abortion for decades.
Remarks like these are fairly common among Democrats. Hochul’s latest insult echoes Hillary Clinton’s position that half of Trump supporters are “deplorables,” and Biden’s fear-mongering about “Ultra MAGA” Republicans. Yet, when it comes to “divisiveness,” the left is quick to abdicate responsibility and blame conservatives.
The left has clearly never had any desire for civility. Their attacks on the most fundamental social institutions and freedoms in our country are anything but civil. Their dishonest nitpicks regarding conduct, especially when their conduct is consistently as pathetic as Hochul’s, will always fall flat.
