For the good of humankind, Six Flags has followed Disney's lead and banned selfie sticks from all of their parks.

In a move that will sure damage their reputation among Millennials, Six Flags has taken a stand against the growing tide of annoyance and narcissism. It is a brave step that will hopefully catch on with other amusement parks and attractions.

Six Flags communications manager Katy Enrique told NBC Chicago in a statement:

“We strive to provide the safest possible environment in our parks and these devices pose a safety risk to guests and employees...The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority."

No one enjoys seeing scores of people holding 3 foot poles in the air to capture ridiculous pictures of themselves.
