Eighty-eight Republican members of Congress sent a letter to the Office of Inspector General (OIG), part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), on May 24, requesting that they conduct a thorough investigation into the University of Pittsburgh’s (PITT) fetal tissue research.

The letter gives compelling evidence that the university is violating federal law by killing live babies from failed abortions for the purpose of harvesting their organs and altering abortion procedures to obtain fetal tissue.

Back in January, PITT’s newspaper released an article triumphantly claiming that the school's fetal tissue research processes and practices had been investigated by a Washington D.C. law firm and were found “fully compliant with applicable laws.”

What conservatives disapproved of is that PITT had hired the law firm themselves to conduct the investigation. As expected, the report came out clean.

The Federalist reported in January that the investigation, conducted by Hyman, Phelps & McNamara (HPM), limited its scope intentionally and gave exceptions to some of the most damning evidence: the very clinics where the researchers extract the human tissue.

HPM admits they did not investigate the two university clinics where university researchers source their aborted fetal tissue: the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, where more abortions are performed than in any other hospital in the state.

“...no one gets to investigate themselves,” Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) told an EWTN News corespondent, “we need to have an outside investigation as well because we need to know if they’re using fetal tissue and adjusting the way abortions are actually occuring in clear violation of federal law.”

The fact that HPM didn’t find issue with the medical practices of PITT is absurd. Horrific evidence that emerged in mid 2021 showed atrocities including scalping week old babies from elective abortions and grafting their hair onto mice. The experiment was to test human hair protection against pathogen transmission. Pictures can be seen of human baby hair growing on the rodents, according to Rehumanize International.

Lankford and other Republican congress members are anxious for justice to be served and are counting on their letter to HHS to bring about a more impartial and thorough investigation.

Thankfully, Inspector General Christi Grimm responded to them, stating that her office will “follow up accordingly.”

We pray that they will soon end these atrocious acts.
