Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham took to Fox News’ Tuesday night to call on Sen. Mitch McConnell to “unequivocally” oppose President Trump’s impeachment, telling host Sean Hannity, "What we need right now is Sen. McConnell to unequivocally say the second impeachment of Donald Trump after he leaves office is not only unconstitutional, it is bad for the country."

Graham also added that the GOP needs to “stand up and fight back."

"If we [the GOP] throw in the towel, or are perceived to having thrown in the towel, and not fighting against this impeachment, the Republican Party, as Rand Paul said, will ‘crack up,'" Graham said.

The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives impeached Trump on Jan. 13 over his alleged incitement of insurrection of the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. McConnell has yet to announce his decision regarding Trump’s potential conviction in the Senate., with many assuming that if McConnell were to vote in favor of the conviction, it could influence other Republican senators to do the same.

McConnell wrote last week that “While the press has been full of speculation, I have not made a final decision on how I will vote and I intend to listen to the legal arguments when they are presented to the Senate.”

McConnell’s office did not respond to a request for comment following Graham’s interview, according to The Epoch Times.
