Just minutes after Sen. Susan Collins announced on the Senate floor Friday she’ll be voting “yes” to confirm SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin tweeted he’ll also be supporting Trump's most recent pick to the Supreme Court.
“Based on all of the information I have available to me, including the recently completed FBI report, I have found Judge Kavanaugh to be a qualified jurist who will follow the Constitution and determine cases based on the legal findings before him,” Manchin said in a statement posted on Twitter.
“I do hope that Judge Kavanaugh will not allow the partisan nature this process took to follow him onto the court,” he added.
Manchin's vote, along with Sens. Collins and Jeff Flake, will likely give Republicans the necessary votes to confirm Kavanaugh in a vote expected to take place Saturday.
