Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy is jumping on the "Defund the Police" bandwagon - and this time, he's hiding behind the excuse that some law enforcement agencies might actually have the audacity to uphold people's Second Amendment rights.

Speaking to CNN's Dana Bash on his party's push to strip Americans' God-given - and constitutionally affirmed - right to keep and bear arms, Murphy, a Democrat, suggested that Congress should have a "conversation" about whether to strip necessary federal funding from police departments that refuse to enforce federal gun-grabs.

"I think we have to have a conversation about whether we can continue to fund law enforcement in states where they’re refusing to implement these gun laws," Murphy said. "I’ll talk to my colleagues about what our approach should be to this problem. But 60 percent of counties in this country are refusing to implement the nation’s gun laws. We’ve got to do something about that."

"They’ve decided they’re going to essentially refuse to implement laws that are on the books," he went on. "That is a growing problem in this country. And I think we’re going to have to have a conversation about that in the United States Senate. Do we want to continue to supply funding in law enforcement in counties that refuse to implement state and federal gun laws? Red flag laws are wildly popular."

According to one estimate by the Associated Press, more than 1,200 locales across the country have declared themselves "sanctuary cities" for gun rights, vowing not to enforce laws that violate citizens' Second Amendment rights.

Interestingly, while leftists like Murphy are in favor defunding police departments for upholding Americans' right to keep and bear arms, they see nothing at all wrong with funding cities and law enforcement agencies that actively protect illegal aliens living in the United States in full, flagrant violation of federal immigration law.

Which makes you wonder who they're truly working for.
