Sekulow: 'Put Yourselves in the Shoes...Of Any President That Would've Been Under This Type of Attack'

It's day three of the defense's case in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, and attorney Jay Sekulow made a suggestion to all in attendance that wasn't an unfair one - put yourselves in Trump's shoes.

Sekulow was making his opening statements on Tuesday, and made an interesting point before repeating his call for others to put themselves in Trump's shoes.

"To lower the bar of impeachment based on these articles of impeachment would impact the functioning of our Constitutional Republic and the framework of that Constitution for generations," Sekulow said.

Following that statement, Sekulow posed that people should be cognizant of the fact that no president has had to put up with this level of partisan attack.

"I told you at the very beginning, I asked, to put yourselves in the shoes of - not just this president - of any president that would've been under this type of attack," Sekulow said.
