White House press secretary Sarah Sanders had some pointed barbs for CNN on Cuomo Primetime Wednesday night, giving Host Chris Cuomo a tongue-lashing.

“Unfortunately, you guys quit reporting the news. When I can read a news story and I have no idea what side of the story the reporter is on, that’s a good news story,” she asserted. “You’ll be hard-pressed to find a lot of news that looks like that,” she continued.

Sanders also suggested that the media is disconnected from its audience.

"I wish that we spent a lot less time focused on things the American people don't care about," she said. "I wish we spent a lot less time talking about this witch hunt and that we talked about things that impact everyday Americans."

Sanders cited the economy as one example that the media fails to give worthy coverage to, then arguing that they value their personal opinions rather than the actual facts.

“What I think is important to remember is that you guys get to ask the questions, but you can’t always complain about the answers,” Sanders said. “You constantly ask the same question over and over and over again and expect different answers and then get mad when the answers don’t change.”

When Cuomo got testy and questioned the secretary's credibility, Sanders hit back hard.

"I think by sitting here right now and taking questions for you shows the type of person I am." she said. "[It] shows my effort to provide information and frankly to be in an environment that's not exactly friendly."
