Seattle School Cancels Halloween: It 'Marginalizes Students Of Color'

Imagine that just because you don’t celebrate Christmas, the government established a rule  declaring that no one gets to celebrate Christmas so you don’t feel left out. Seems pretty unfair, right? Well that sort of thing happened at a Seattle elementary school recently.

An upcoming Halloween “Pumpkin Parade” was cancelled at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School this year based on the advice of the school’s “Racial Equity Team.”

Oh great. The usual party poopers. Though it is strange that they’re targeting Halloween and leaving the school’s name alone. Isn’t Ben Franklin like an archetypical representation of white supremacy to these people?

But we digress.

According to The Daily Wire, Ben Franklin Elementary School’s Racial Equity Team deemed that the annual “Pumpkin Parade” – a Halloween celebration which” traditionally featured a procession of elementary students dressed in Halloween costumes” – wasn’t going to fly anymore.

But strangely the team’s reasoning wasn’t because Halloween implies “whiteness” or is historically racist -- at least there wasn’t any sort of CRT reasoning behind the decision.

Apparently it was just because some people of color don’t celebrate Halloween and have felt left out.

So because a person that just so happens to be a minority doesn't like something, that means it marginalizes minorities? Oh man, this is stupid. Then again this is Seattle.

But yes, that’s the reasoning. A Seattle Public School spokesperson confirmed that with conservative Seattle radio host Jason Rants. They said, “Historically, the Pumpkin Parade marginalizes students of color who do not celebrate the holiday. Specifically, these students have requested to be isolated on campus while the event took place.”

This year, instead of having people feel sorry for themselves for choosing to not celebrate a pretty inclusive, non-religious holiday, they want to ruin everyone’s fun.

The spokesperson added, “In alliance with SPS’s unwavering commitment to students of color, specifically African American males, the staff is committed to supplanting the Pumpkin Parade with more inclusive and educational opportunities during the school day.”

Uh … OK? Based on this, should we have Hanukkah canceled for Jewish people because some African American Christians might feel left out of the festivities? This is some dumb stuff.

Still Benjamin Franklin ES principal Stanley Jaskot confirmed that the parade had been cancelled at the behest of the woke tyrants.

Instead of the explicit Halloween theme of the “Pumpkin Parade,” the school has decided to focus on general fall-themed student activities like “thematic units of study about the fall" and reviewing "autumnal artwork.”

So more work and less spooky fun for the kids? Geez, everything woke really does turn to sh*t, doesn’t it?
