On Sunday’s Face the Nation, Gov. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) questioned whether gay business owners should be held to the same standard as Christian businesses in having to serve customers whose deeply held convictions fundamentally conflict with their own.

“Tolerance is a two-way street,” he said.

If you’re a print shop and you are a gay man, should you be forced to print ‘God hates fags’ for the Westboro Baptist Church?" Santorum asked. "Should the government force you to do that?"

"And that’s what these cases are all about,” he argued.

"No business should discriminate against you because of who you are," Santorum said.

"But it should have the ability to say, we're not going to participate in certain activities that we disagree with from a religious point of view."
