Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders won his home state in Tuesday’s primary against Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

During his victory speech, Sanders said that by the end of the night, he will have won “many hundreds of delegates.”

"Let me remind you of what the media often forgets about: This is not a general election. It's not winner take all... If you get 52 percent -- if you get 48 percent -- you roughly end up with the same amount of delegates in a state," he explained. "By the end of tonight, we are going to win many hundreds of delegates."

Exit poll results and current numbers point toward a sweeping Super Tuesday victory for his rival.
