The political machine is serving us another charming character with whom we can become familiar.
She’s Dr. Mandy Cohen, who served as the head of Health and Human Services in North Carolina from 2017 to 2021, and she is Joe Biden’s likely pick to run the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) as its current director, Rochelle Walensky, gets ready to leave and stop hectoring us with conflicting, factless, tactless “recommendations” that have been translated into commands by a supercharged fascist, centralized, government subsidy-regulatory schema that the Founders would have fought to end.
The system continues, and Biden appears to have picked yet another edict-throwing hypocrite to sponge off current taxpayers and off the unborn who will be saddled with federal debt.
Writes Josh Kristenson, for the New York Post:
"President Biden is set to pick Dr. Mandy Cohen as his next director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to reports.
After reports of Cohen’s appointment surfaced, posts on social media showed her gloating about implementing COVID lockdowns, inconsistently following her own mitigation guidelines and forcing public schools to have students masked indoors regardless of vaccination status.”
What better candidate might one find to lead the unconstitutional CDC than one of the many state-level thugs who swore an oath to both her state constitution and the U.S. Constitution, then, who proceeded to utterly disregard her sworn promise?
At least there’s some dark form of anti-consistency consistency in the Biden approach.
As James Bovard writes for the NY Post:
“Cohen and Gov. Roy Cooper in October 2020 sent counties a missive urging them to ban alcohol sales at 9 p.m. (instead of 11 p.m.). Cohen didn’t reveal the science and/or data on COVID being more contagious after 9 p.m. The memo also urged counties to restrict any indoor event or convening to not more than 10 people and any outdoor event to not more than 25. Repeat offenders would be subject to $1,000 fines. Cohen declared in 2021 that she based her pandemic policies on the recommendations of her “scientific team.”
But shortly after she left office, she revealed she actually relied on phone calls with political appointees in other states.
Indeed,
And Cohen seems to have had a sense of humor about shutting down other people’s livelihoods, backing curfews, and breaching the constitutional rules. Adds Kristenson:
“The ex-health secretary recalled at one point advising Massachusetts Health Secretary Marylou Sudders to shutter football stadiums to fall in line with North Carolina’s COVID mandates.
“She was like, ‘Are you gonna let them have professional football?’ And I was like, ‘No.’ And she’s like, ‘OK neither are we,’” Cohen said with a chuckle.”
“Let them have…”
Welcome to the kiddie playground of “Lockdown Land,” where you’re the kid, they’re the adults, and you keep paying for your own subjugation and humiliation. Fun place. Fun people.
Just follow their authoritarian claim of embodying “the Science.”
Or, perhaps not.

Dr. Jay Battacharya, M.D. (a professor at Stanford and one of the original creators and signers of the Great Barrington Declaration that recommended against lockdowns and for selective protection of high-risk people so that the vast majority of the population could acquire long-lasting natural immunity through exposure and natural response, which, in turn would create herd immunity to protect the vulnerable) recently was kind enough to retweet a post from attorney Laura Powell, who found footage of Cohen spouting the same nonsense Walensky and so many other pop-politics chatterboxes proclaimed in June of 2021: that the experimental mRNA jabbolas were going to prevent transmission of “the virus.” Writes Powell, above the video:
“Mandy Cohen, Biden's pick for new CDC Director in June 2021 discussing the ‘definitive data’ from CDC showing vaccines prevent you from getting or transmitting Covid. Everyone makes mistakes, but failing to acknowledge colossal ones like this is disqualifying.”
But there’s a big elephant in the room when one considers “disqualifying” factors "to head or not head" the CDC.
A strict reading of the U.S. Constitution and an understanding of the philosophy undergirding the writing in it tell us, first, that there is no provision for a CDC at all. And John Locke’s Second Treatise of Government, on which the Founders based the U.S. Constitution and Jefferson based the Declaration of Independence, tell us that their rationale for government was to stop person-on-person theft, threats, and violence.
There is no historical, Founding-Era justification for the polis to get involved with stopping “disease” or other naturally occurring phenomena.
But what might one expect from Cohen, a person who already has shown her disregard for natural rights, for the Contract Clause of the US Constitution – which prohibits state-level government from nullifying or changing already-agreed private contracts between citizens. In fact, Cohen already has had a hand in slamming freedom on a national level, all in the name of “medicine.”
Notes Kristenson:
“Cohen also founded Doctors for Obama in 2008, which was rebranded as Doctors for America following his election, and went on to work in the former president’s administration beginning in 2013 as a senior adviser and later chief of staff at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a subagency of the US Department of Health and Human Services.
The group has advocated for addressing climate change and gun violence as public health crises and endorsed legislation to reallocate billions of dollars from police budgets for alternative public safety agencies, according to the watchdog group Activist Facts.”
Great. A woman who pretends the Constitution hands politicians and bureaucrats all kinds of power, who pretends that the right to keep and bear arms is a health “threat” rather than a key to reducing violent crime and warding off people with criminal intent, and who pushed for Obamacare, which not only embraces the idea that government is supposed to take from some people in order to fund medical coverage for others, but also stands as a giant insult to the Constitution as well.
Could Biden have picked a more fitting Biden CDC Direktor nominee to replace the fatuous Walensky?
