In an appearance on Fox News Saturday, Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio discussed the horrific terrorist attacks on Paris Friday night and how “there’s no accommodation” to be made with radical extremists bent on murdering innocents for not following their interpretation of Islam.

“This is a civilizational war… This is not a geopolitical greivance,” said Rubio. "They believe the entire world needs to believe what they believe in, or you die."

"There’s no accommodation with them,” he argued. "They don’t just want to govern the Middle East. They want to govern the world.”

The Florida senator went on, "They believe the entire world must live under the laws and rules of their particular interpretation of Islam. And they are willing to kill people to carry it out.”

Rubio added that, in the fight against radical extremism, the world needs to confront the issue of safe havens — such as those in Syria and Libya — where terrorists recruit, train, and “ultimately export [people] to conduct these sort of attacks in Europe and beyond.”

When asked how he would react to the Paris attacks as President, Rubio replied that, in addition to targeting the terrorists' training camps, he would motion to “subject ISIS to high-profile, humiliating defeat.”

“I believe we need to subject ISIS to high-profile, humiliating defeat, meaning special operations attacks that are filmed,” said Rubio.

“We need to show the world that these are not invincible people -- discourage people from joining their cause.”
