During an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier on Tuesday, Donald Trump called the practice of eminent domain – the ability by the government to expropriate private property for public use – “wonderful.”

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) slammed Trump as being flat-out “wrong,” arguing that the right to private property is "one of the most important rights that Americans have."

“Yeah, he’s wrong,” Rubio fired.

“In Florida, when I was a state legislator, we passed what has become model legislation for other states around the country … that keeps developers like Donald Trump from using the power of eminent domain to take private property away from an owner and give it to another private owner,” he explained.

“It’s one of the most important rights that Americans have is private property,” said Rubio.
