"Vote Green and you can help us build a society that works for the Common Good," proposes Britons' Green Party - which includes extending human rights to animals. They hope to bring environmental concerns to the forefront of policy making and plan on taking 10 seats in parliament in the next election.

Other things the party wants to accomplish are "ensuring" everyone has access to a job, restoring all public services to the government, building more government funded low income housing, and of course, investing in renewable energy.

The Telegraph reports:

"The proposed policies come on top of the party's existing platform of legalising hard drugs and brothels, placing new restrictions on advertising and air travel, imposing taxes on large presents and pop stars and cutting economic growth to zero in order to protect the planet."

They are the fastest growing party and currently have 55,000 numbers which is more than the Liberal Democrats who hold 19 seats. The Green party is planning a fast track way to get their priorities met by teaming up with the Scottish National Party and Plaid Cymru to force the minority Labour government to spend billions on welfare. while abandoning their nuclear defense project "Trident."

During an upcoming panel debate between Green Party's president Natalie Bennett will speak on, among other things, one of their many proposals:

"Animal rights: Article Five of the UN Declaration on Human Rights, banning “inhuman” treatment, is extended to all sentient life forms. The same prison sentences for the murder and kidnap of humans will apply to crimes involving elephants, monkeys and whales."

This would not only apply to rats since they can feel and perceive things and who knows how many others they will include. So, if animals are considered human, if an elephant were to step on a monkey, would the elephant would have to somehow stand trial or be placed in the courtyard of a prison for life?  It is likely "The Green Police"  will be out in force if this party takes power.

Here is a list of merely some of their proposals:

  • Other Green Party proposals include a ban on horse and dog racing.
  •  Higher tax on diapers.
  • Allocating nuclear deterrence budget of 16 billion pounds to foreign aid.
  • Building  forest schools so that children can build their self-esteem in a woodland environment.
  • Banning importing all goods that were made not in compliance with British health and safety standards or where workers were not paid a living wage.
  • Abolishing tuition fees and granting free over 65 personal care.
  • NHS (England's National Health Service) for pets

and most importantly

  • Economic growth no longer deemed necessary for "general well-being."

The UK Specator writes:

"Of course, everyone should be concerned about the environment, but to think that it is best-served by self-imposed poverty is folly."
