Even as polling shows that investigating the events of January 6th may be the just about the least important political issue to the average voter, the Democrats and “Republicans” heading the January 6th committee have continued to dramatize their show trial.

On Tuesday, the committee brought in former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who made several headline-grabbing, but ultimately unconfirmed, claims about former President Donald Trump.

Among the most shocking claims, is that Trump lunged for the steering wheel of ‘the Beast’ when Secret Service agents told him he would not be able to join the protest.

When this attempted hijacking failed, Hutchinson testified that the then-president physically attacked the head of his Secret Service detail, Bobby Engel.

Hutchinson told the committee under oath:

The president said something to the effect of, ‘I’m the f-ing president, take me up to the Capitol now,’ to which Bobby [Engel] responded, ‘Sir, we have to go back to the West Wing.’ The president reached up to the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, said ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing. We’re not going to the Capitol.’ Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel, and when [deputy chief of staff for operations Tony] Ornato had recounted this story to me, he had motioned toward his clavicles.

According to reports, just about everyone involved in the alleged altercation is prepared to deny the claim that Trump lunged for the steering wheel or assaulted anyone.

Per CBS News, Engel and the driver are both prepared to testify under oath that neither of them had been attacked by Trump, and that the former president never lunged for the steering wheel of the vehicle. CNN reporter Gabby Orr also claimed that Tony Ornato, whom Hutchinson credited with recounting the story, is willing to testify that he never told Hutchinson such a story.

Hutchinson’s tale also raises questions about the layout of the presidential state car, known as ‘the Beast.’

According to conservative journalist Jack Posobiec, the president is separated from the driver of the vehicle by a glass barrier and a significant distance, making it all but physically impossible for Trump to reach for the steering wheel in the vehicle Hutchinson claimed he attempted to hijack.

Trump has vehemently denied the claims on his social media app, Truth Social, calling Hutchinson “a total phony,” and insisting that he “hardly [knows] who [she] is.”

"Her Fake story that I tried to grab the steering wheel of the White House Limousine in order to steer it to the Capitol Building is 'sick' and fraudulent, very much like the Unselect Committee itself - Wouldn’t even have been possible to do such a ridiculous thing," Trump wrote.
