Update: 4/28/20 The New York Post reporter who wrote the original article on the Kamala Harris book has said she has resigned from the paper over the article. It is now reported that no books by Harris were provided by government officials at the shelter, the copy that was seen in the Post was part of a toy and book donation drive.

Update: 4/26/20 In a new article published Monday, the Washington Post disputes previous reporting and claims a single copy of Harris' children's book was donated to the Long Beach, California facility being used to house migrant children as part of a book drive. Other outlets continue to report that children are being given copies of the book in their welcome packs.

Original story: Illegal alien children being housed in an overflow facility in Long Beach, California are being given copies of Vice President Kamala Harris’ children’s book as a welcome gift.

According to this, up to 1,000 children are expected to be housed at taxpayer expense at the Long Beach Convention Center, the 13th such overflow facility opened by the Biden administration to deal with the massive influx of illegal aliens – including unaccompanied children and teens – streaming across the border in record numbers thanks to Biden’s open-border policies. The administration is spending an estimated $60 million per week to house unaccompanied children before they can be sent to sponsors – usually family members – already living in the U.S.

But instead of being sent back home to their own countries, thousands of children, many of them teens between 13 and 17, are now being housed in stadiums and convention centers that have largely remained closed to the taxpaying public for a year, taught by public school teachers who aren’t in classrooms instructing American children, and now being given welcome packets including the book "Superheroes Are Everywhere," written by the vice president who’s been tasked with dealing with the border crisis and has so far done…nothing.

Fox News reports:

Harris’ children’s book Superheroes Are Everywhere is included in welcome packs for migrant children arriving at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, a recently converted influx facility, along with basic hygiene supplies and clothing.

It’s not clear who’s paying for the books, and Health and Human Services so far hasn’t answered questions about its origins. A spokesperson for the White House claims Harris didn’t know the books were being given to the kids.

More than 184,000 unaccompanied alien children are expected to cross the Southwest U.S. border this year alone. It total, immigration experts predict more than 1 million illegal aliens will come into the U.S. unlawfully this year, a total that would mark a 20-year high.
