Rep. Lewis Says Trump Is Racist, Others Deny Pres. Used Language

4.6k views

In an interview with ABC News’ ‘This Week’ on Sunday, Lewis said he believes President Trump is a racist.

When host George Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think President Trump is a racist?” Lewis responded, “I think he is a racist.”

Lewis’ statements come following reports that President Trump used the phrase “sh*thole countries” during an immigration meeting with lawmakers, while referring to people coming to the United States from certain countries.

President Trump has denied using those words.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D –Ill.) claims the president used the offensive language, others at the immigration meeting, including Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), deny that the president made the comments.
