House Progressive Caucus co-chair Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) is calling on Trump to cancel his “racist” rally in Arizona Tuesday night.

In an opinion piece in Fortune titled, “Arizona Rep. Grijalva: Trump Should Cancel His Racist Rally in Phoenix,” Grijalva says:

“With this visit to Arizona, Trump’s full embrace of the racist hatred of the alt-right is in full bloom. We can already assume that at his rally, he will once again attack immigrants, Mexico, and promote his silly wall.”

Grijalva has already announced he will be protesting Tuesday night’s rally, “When he comes to Phoenix I plan to be there,” he told news outlet AZ Family last week.

“Early on in the Trump administration words like ‘fascism’ were minimized, words like ‘racist’ were minimized, words like ‘this is despotic and dictatorial’ were minimized. Well the pattern is pretty clear to me –that this is a dangerous administration.”

It’s interesting how clear and distinct this is to Grijalva, a man who has said that any distinction between illegal immigrants and those who obey U.S. laws and enter the country legally “doesn't exist.”
