CNN 'Reliable Sources' host Brian Stelter, keeps promoting the notion that we just can't judge whether the soon-to-be-dead CNN + streaming service was a success or not.

On Friday’s edition of his streaming show, Reliable Sources Daily, Brian Stelter whined to the few who subscribe to the service.

Stelter proclaimed CNN + to be “a worthy venture” for the cable network and suggested it was “too early to know” if the 1-month-old streaming service “was a success or a failure.”

“Look, it’s one of the biggest stories in media right now. CNN+, the platform for this show is going to be shutting down next week after less than a month in operation! Why?” Stelter exclaimed.

After reportedly spending over $300 million and averaging under 10,000 daily users the answer might seem pretty simple. But Stelter prefers to keep using the "it's too early to judge" argument.

Stelter kept the same argument going on the Sunday cable version of the Reliable Sources show, interrupting guest Sara Fischer of Axios to make the point.

Fischer said, "There's also a differing view on whether or not this was successful. People inside CNN..."

"Wasn't it too soon to know?" Stelter interjected.

"Well, that's the argument, right? Because this is sort of unprecedented," Fischer said.

Uh, huh. An unprecedented failure.
