Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), a member of the woke freshman class in the House, is on the hot seat once again, this time for continuing to pose in campaign photos with Palestinian-American businessman and alleged anti-semite Maher Abdel-qader.
Abdel-qader became known by the media after The Daily Caller reported that he had shared an anti-semitic video to a Facebook group called “Palestinian American Congress,” which was created by Abdel-qader himself, whose members, according to The Caller, “often demonize Jews.”
The video in question claims Israeli Jews aren’t actually Jewish, that they invented their historical claim to Israel, and that Jews are “satanic." As the cherry on top, the video pushed a conspiracy theory questioning whether six million Jews actually died in the Holocaust.
According to the Daily Beast, the video’s narrator asserts, “Research the truth about the Holocaust, and you’ll definitely start to question what you thought you knew.”
To his credit, though, Abdel-qader deleted his post and apologized for sharing the video, which totally exonerates him.
Abdel-qader was a key fundraiser for Tlaib in 2018, raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars for the now freshman congresswoman. And, despite his perceived anti-semitism, it doesn’t seem as if he’s out of Tlaib’s good graces.
[Abdel-qader] posed for photos with the congresswoman at two events within the span of a week in April and May, his Instagram account shows.
This isn’t the new congresswoman’s first brush with allegations of anti-semitism or dismissal of such behavior. Just last month, Tlaib was slammed for comments she made on the podcast Skullduggery:
There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports… And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And, I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.
Despite Tlaib’s alleged anti-semitic sympathies, the Democratic Party has taken no action to condemn her.
